Alice on the SyFy Channel

Alice on SyFy is one of the best mini-series out there, the best on all that I have seen!!! I loved Tin Man too though. Not only did I love the series, I loved the look of Alice. The series was completely AMAZING. I now own the DVD, yay!
You can buy it from Amazon, Target, Walmart, Barnes and Noble, Borders, or Best Buy (and I am sure other places as well)
It is also available on Bluray

I can't even describe how much I loved the show. In the show, costume related (my specialty), Alice is wearing a 1960s-ish mod scooter blue dress, red tights, purple boots, and a plum purple velvet coat that Hatter gave to her that was the exact length of her dress (which by the way Andrew Lee Potts is a very attractive and extremely lovable Hatter).

I am going to post where to find costume and prop replicas used in the mini series.  Please check and make sure everything is legitimate before you buy anything.

Alice:

 Dress:
Alice's dress had two slit pockets and was a light blue with two zig-zag ribbon things that went down the front in a U shape, as well as completely around the bottom once.
CosplaySky made an awesome Dress replica (which I personally own so if you have any questions feel free to post a comment or e-mail me: bellaforbiddenedward@gmail.com)
link to purchase it is below the images

I felt like designing a pair of converse based on Alice's Outfit:
If you want to make them go to design your own converse, it will cost about $62, you could do high tops like I did or low tops, or extra-high.

Outside Body and Inside Body: Royal Purple (Hatter’s Coat and Alice’s Boots)
Tongue, Heel Stripe, and Lining: Carolina Blue (Alice’s Dress)
Stitching: Dewberry (The buttons and trim on Hatter Coat)
Racing Stripe and Laces: Red (Alice’s Leggings)
Rubber Side Wall: White (Charlie the White Knight)

Ring:
of course then there is the Ring of Wonderland, Kay Jewelers sponsors the movie and I wish they would make the ring to purchase
If you are interested in purchasing the ring tell Kay that you would buy it if they put it out

Hair:

Alice's Oyster Mark:
In case you want to make a costume out of it for Halloween or a convention or something

Mad March:
I want to make his cookie jar head
White Rabbit Symbol
Which would make a good t-shirt
The picture above would have to be redrawn so it could be made into this size and still keep its detail and quality

  1. Hi, I was wondering where you got your screencaps? Thanks so much for your post

  2. I screen capped them myself... I love Ctrl PrtSc, You're welcome!

  3. Do you think the trim on the dress is ric rack? Thats what I keep reading and it just doesn't look like that to me...

    What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ric Rack is really close but I don't think that's what it was. It's sharper zig zags and it is one sided with one side flat. I'm not sure what it is.

  5. Alice's purple boots are John Fluevog's Inge boots.

  6. Do you know if the local Kay jeweler stocks the Stone of Wonderland? That'd be an awesome ring to wear.

  7. I don't know, I wish they would. They don't have it anywhere on their website though and I would think they would advertise it if they did. I would buy it if they did.

  8. Found closer to the jacket, but it's also $400 http://bit.ly/6PYzU2

  9. If you liked Alice and the Tin Man then I would recommend the 10th Kingdom for a watch. It's along the same vein in story and the character of Wolf is quite the charmer.

Thank you for coming up with these links! I was wondering where to get some pieces from Alice's outfit.

Have to say, though, as much as I'm a fan of those boots, the last time I bought Fluevog shoes they were sized too small, the leather and sole was rather flimsy, and the back loop ended up tearing when my mother (who they fit) tried them on, and when I wrote them a letter they never bothered to respond.

Oh, and if you are ever looking for various colored tights I recommend www.welovecolors.com, they've got over 50 colors available. :)

  15. Do any of the DVDS have special features? I was extremely disappointed to find the one I purchased from Amazon has NO special features at all! What a disappointment! :(

    ReplyDelete
  16. The deleted scenes are incorporated into the film but other than that there is nothing. It disappointed me as well, but at least a few more scenes were added.

  17. I think I need to thank you for this awesome page! I've visited here about a dozen times to look through your findings for replicating the costumes and I've become completely obsessed with those purple boots! Thanks for all the hard work you put into finding these pieces!

  27. Hey there - Curious what you think about the cut and fit of the dress you purchased from Cosplay. I'm interested in it for an upcoming convention, but noticed the cut around the front is a little low on the neckline, and squared a bit when comparing it to the dress in the mini-series.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hi, I have a question about the dress from Cosplay as well. How does the material feel? Is it actually waerable or isn`t it comfortable (I want to wear it as a normal dress, so it kind of needs to be compfy) I also recognized a pattern on the dress in the movie, or is that my eys playing crasy? Is there a pattern on the Cosplay dress?
P.S. Sorry for stupid spelling mistakes or anything. I am not native speaking

    ReplyDelete
  29. The neckline of the dress did have to be altered on me, I think this could be fixed if you sent the measurement above your breasts as well, when I altered mine it ended up rounded so it worked out for me. I think if I would have sent in my above the breast measurements this wouldn't have been an issue. As for the material, it is a cotton dress so it is very everyday wearable, and with pockets it is functional for carrying cellphones. There is a pattern on the dress in the movie but that would be extremely hard to replicate so unfortunately there is no pattern on the dress.
